Chapoutier Côtes du Rhône 2012, Rhone Valley

Chapoutier Cotes du Rhone 2012 Rhone Valley France

AUD$15 from Dan Murphy’s. This cheap Grenache Syrah blend serves as a nice contrast against the 2011 Luberon. Deeper colour with more concentration of fruit. Intense ruby colour with a purple rim. Soft perfume, youthful aromas of dark berry fruit and mulberry bush. A rough silk texture, high acidity with a good load of dry, sappy tannins. 14% alc. Intense rich flavours of plum, blackberries, a touch of Provencial herb and sweet anise. Have with Moroccan spiced lamb cutlets. Drink now – 2020. 91/100.
