Dominique Portet Fontaine Rose 2013, Yarra Valley / Pyreness, VIC

Dominique Portet Fontaine Roe 2013 Yarra Valley Pyreness VIC Simple Palates Seriously

$22. This is a blend of Merlot (50%), Shiraz (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot were sourced from the Yarra Valley, and the Shiraz from the Pyrenees region. Pale crimson-orange colour, bright youthful aromas of redcurrants, blackberries, hint of baby herbs. Dry, full-bodied wine with high acidity. A medium mouthful, certainly not as ripe and rich as the Spinifex, but it is balanced. This would suit and oily dish like BBQ snags. Clean strawberry, red berry fruit flavours, moderate lengthed, simple crisp finish. I had this with smoked tuna on brioche with a creamy asparagus and dill sauce. Drink now. 89/100.
