Ruggabellus Fluus Mataro Grenache Syrah 2012, Barossa Valley, SA

$30 from Prince Wine Store. A 42/41/17 blend of Mataro, Grenache and Shiraz. Small production 3960 bottles. This is a light weighted blend of that classic BV GSM recipe, but is completely up-side down. Forget about the weighty dense fruit style. The Fluus is fresh, lively and glances across your palate. Med+ purple ruby colour, notes of cherry, dark berries and undergrowth. Med-bodied wine, soft tannins despite the use of 12% whole bunch, and acidity that is minimal only serving to keep the wine alive. 13.6% alc. Light cherry and berry fruit flavours, clean and slightly spiced finish. Drink now. 88/00.

Also look out for the Efferus, a mataro dominant blend.
