Millton Te Arai Vineyard Chenin Blanc 2011, Gisborne, New Zealand

Millton Chenin Blanc 2011 Te Arai Vineyard Gisborne New Zealand Simple Palates Seriously

AUD$25 from Cloudwine. An excellent recommendation from Cloudwine. Very disappointed on missing out on the 1929 Vouvray, and while this doesn’t come close to a substitute, it easily did the job of washing down my dinner of Thai vermicelli seafood salad. It has an attractive gold colour, with fresh ripe aromas of crunchy apple, slices of Pakenham pear and a slight note of crushed sprouts. A dry, medium-bodied wine, very nicely weighted on the palate, rounded on the mid palate. The high acidity is buffered by the apparent sweetness of the fruit flavours, apple with a twist of lemon on the finish. A fine biodynamic wine from NZ. Drink now – 2015. 89+/100.
