Torbreck and Dave Powell part ways.

Seems like there was a disagreement over the business plan or the role Dave would play. Anyway, it was a good run for Torbreck since the business was re-worked in the period of 2003-08. I’ve had chats with Dave on numerous occasions at the winery during my early exploratory years of the Barossa, and tasting the wines with Dave left me with lasting impressions. Maybe 2013 will be the final vintage for my Torbreck collection..

Although it needs to be pointed out that the current winemaking team has been on-hand for the past several years, so there is less of Dave’s stamp on the wine compared to the 98-03 vintages which I had cut my teeth on.
