Bogeda Norton Lo Tengo 2011 Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina

2013-03-09 12.30.40

$10 from Vintage Cellars (Albert Park). Alright, so we got a new pope this week, Francis I, from Argentina, so let’s raise a glass of Argentinian Malbec to toast this event. The 2011 Lo Tengo is a cheap, representative Malbec that should be accesible to everyone. Intense ruby colour, with notes of crushed berry fruit, red cherry and cinnamon bark. A dry, full-bodied wine, with smooth velvety tannins. Dark raspberry and cherry flavours, with a twinge of sourish dark chocolate on the finish. A very good BBQ wine for this Melbourne F1 weekend too. 86/100.
