Michel Cluizel Grand Noir 85%, France

2013-03-07 20.10.13

$17/100g. From arguably the most famous French chocolatier, the Grand Noir 85% is, in my opinion, one of the more consumption-friendly dark chocolates on the market. Serious, yet easy to get. You can snap a couple of squares easily after dinner, no fuss at all and without worry of the calories. A blend of cacao from South America, Africa, and Java, aromas of strong coffee, a sense of bitterness, and tropical fruit. Flavours are primarily espresso grain with soft orange rind. Full-bodied but with a mild creaminess to it, perhaps one might find fault in the forth-right honest nature, boring for some?
