Infusion Wines Mt Torrens Vineyard NV, Adelaide Hills

AUD$25 from Cloudwine. This is an interesting bottling, with a captivating label depicting the beguiling Juliette Adelaide Recamier, described by winemaker Tom Munro to embody the ‘magnetic femininity’ of this red blend with no information attached to the composition and the vintages of its parts. Yes, the mysteries of the female species. Hmmm..

Intense pitch black ruby colour, a quick swirl in my glass reveals the unmistaked apricot-like aromas of viognier, tropical mojito, blackcurrants, slight hints of pepper and crushed dried mint. (touch of French oak perhaps?) Silky texture, a dry full-bodied red wine with rich flavours of blackcurrant and blackberry fruit, high acidity and fine fruit tannins that provide a soft rounded body. 14% alc. I do think there is some sticky sweetness that lingers on the palate, so perhaps a touch of viognier too much for my personal taste. A delicious wine nonetheless. Have this with braised pork belly with crushed walnuts/apple sauce. Drink now – 2019. 91/100.

Would you like a sample of the next release of Juliette? T

    • Hi Tom, nice surprise that you’ve sent me a message. You’ve actually reminded me that I’ve been sitting on the Chateabriand note which I should publish.

A sample would be fantastic! When are you releasing the next batch to retail?
