George Duboeuf Chiroubles 2010, Cru Beaujolais, Burgundy, France

AUD$24 from Cloudwine. Made from the Gamay grape, so expect that hubba bubba purple grape kind of nose, but there’s also pure fruit red currant and cranberry juice. An easy drink wine with med- tannin load that leaves a slight dryness on the mid palate and tart acidity. Moderate level of fleshy berry flavours, clean and medium length finish. Drink now. 88/100.

This wine is perfect for a cool spring evening with slow cooked braised ox cheek in a barley and celery stew.
