Karra Yerta Shiraz Cabernet 2006, Eden Valley, SA

$25 direct from winery. A blend of fruit from Eden and Barossa Valleys. This one has a bit of age to it, and for a vintage that received less than average rainfall, this has developed nicely all factors considering.

Intense ruby colour, a developing aromatic profile of blackberries, macerated black plum skins, paprika and rosemary toasted peanuts and a dash of white pepper. Dry, full-bodied wine of smooth silky texture. Aged for 24 months in French oak, the moderate level of plush resolving tannins in combination with high acidity have worked to keep this wine together over time. Rich flavours of blackberries, raspberry liqorice and an edgy element of minerality all extend into a long finish. Drink now – 2015. 91-92/100.

I would strongly recommend their wines to anyone looking for honest representations of the terroir of the Eden Valley. You can order them here.
