Latente Cosecha 2009, Rioja, Spain

AUD$20 from Prince Wine Store (South Melbourne). A blend of Tempranillo and Granacha (90/10). Clear intense ruby colour. A lovely nose of red currants, sappy baby wood planes, violet florals, hint of sweet clove and refined soy sauce. Dry, med bodied wine, slightly thin on its depth perhaps, but there is lovely red currant fruit, hint of anise and a residual white peppery finish. Lovely with gingered bread and pumpkin soup. Drink now. 88/100.
