Glaymond The Distance Shiraz 2008, Barossa Valley, SA

Intense deep ruby color. This wine is developing nicely and exuding clean, young aromas of mulberries, spiced plum, ribena and sweet spice. Dry and full-bodied, the grippy tannins are resolving, giving the wine a smooth velvety texture with high acidity. What once was a packed burst of flavour has morphed into lovely layers of dark berry fruit that persist on the palate. Have this with smoked lamb jerk or chilli chorizo right off the hot grill. Drink now – 2020. 92/100.
